FAMILY INFORMATION SERVICE (SURREY)

About the Family Information Service

Surrey FIS aims to support families of children and young people aged 0-25 to access information and services in a timely and accessible way. We want all families to be able to make decisions and choices to keep them safe and healthy and identify opportunities available to them.

We offer a telephone internet and outreach information service using a contact centre as a 'first fix' to take all phone calls. We have office based advisors that reply to email and web enquiries, also the more complex questions that the contact centre cannot answer. Our outreach team work in the community in allocated areas with children centres, JCP, health centres, employers and other organisations.

The role of our service is to help families get the most out of the information and services available in the community and online. This could be something like helping you find out about local events and activities for your kids, or pointing you in the right direction when things aren't going so well and you need a bit of extra support.

Our FIS website covers a range of subjects including money, keeping your family safe, childcare and education. You can also visit our SEND Local Offer website for Special Educational Needs and Disability information and help (please also see our dedicated SEND page on the Centre website).

You can use our Family Information Directory to find services, support groups, activities, events and more. And if you need some extra help you can always get in touch with us through our online form, by email, phone or social media.
